Effective July 17, 2026. DenisonInterlink is an independent, student-run project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Denison University.
Plain-language summary (not a substitute for the full text below): This is a free app for Denison students. Be respectful and lawful. We store your account info, messages, and any data you choose to add. The platform owner — the person who runs this app, and only that person — can view any conversation to investigate harassment or safety issues; see Section 7 for the full explanation. Buying and selling between students is at your own risk. We provide the service "as is" with no warranties. You can delete your account at any time.
These Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy below (together, the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the operators of DenisonInterlink ("we", "us", "the Service"). By creating an account, clicking "I have read & agree", or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
The Service is offered only to current students, faculty, and staff of Denison University who hold a valid @denison.edu email address. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (18 in Ohio), you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. We may verify eligibility and may suspend accounts that do not meet these requirements.
The Service is an unofficial campus companion application that may include: dining menus and nutrition information sourced from Denison's dining provider; a link-out feed of student newspaper headlines; campus shuttle and transit information, including location data shared voluntarily by riders; direct and group messaging; class group chats you join yourself from a course list; class discussion and question-and-answer features; a peer-to-peer marketplace; and a self-entered transcript and GPA estimator. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time without notice.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information, to use your real Denison identity, and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account. We use industry-standard measures including row-level database security, encryption of sensitive tokens, and access controls, but no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You agree not to use the Service to: (a) violate any law or Denison University policy; (b) harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or harm any person; (c) post or transmit content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or infringing; (d) impersonate any person or entity; (e) distribute spam, malware, or engage in phishing; (f) attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service; (g) scrape or harvest data about other users; (h) use the Service for commercial solicitation beyond the peer marketplace; or (i) interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion.
You retain ownership of the content you submit (messages, listings, questions, transcript entries, profile information, and images). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and transmit that content solely to operate and provide the Service. You are solely responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights to share it. We do not endorse and are not responsible for user content. We may, but are not obligated to, review, moderate, or remove content.
Direct and group messages are visible to the participants of those conversations and are protected from other users by database security rules. Group chats may have one or more "group admins" — other members you or a group's creator designated — who can add or remove members and manage that group; a group admin cannot read the content of any conversation they are not personally a member of, and this is enforced by the same database security rules, not just the app's interface.
Separately, one specific individual — the Service's platform owner, who built and operates DenisonInterlink — retains the technical ability to view the content of any conversation on the Service and to remove content, for the purpose of investigating harassment, threats, or other safety and abuse reports, and to comply with applicable law or enforce these Terms. This access is not available to group admins, professors, or any other user role — it belongs to the platform owner alone, is not used to casually read messages, and is a deliberate design choice disclosed here so you can make an informed decision about what you share. If you would prefer a conversation not be reviewable in this way, don't have it on the Service. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted, and this is not a promise of absolute privacy for any communication that touches Service infrastructure.
The marketplace lets students list items and services for sale to other students. We are not a party to any transaction, do not process payments, do not verify items, users, or listings, and are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of anything listed. All transactions, payments, and arrangements are solely between the buyer and seller and are made at your own risk. Meet in safe, public locations. Prohibited items include anything illegal, weapons, alcohol, drugs, academic work for cheating, and anything that violates Denison policy.
Shuttle tracking depends on users voluntarily sharing their device location while riding. Location sharing is opt-in, active only while you enable it, and automatically stops. Shared positions are visible to other signed-in users for a short period and then deleted. Do not rely on transit information for safety-critical decisions; times and positions are estimates and may be inaccurate or unavailable.
Dining menus, nutrition and allergen data, newspaper headlines, transit schedules, and similar information are drawn from third-party sources and are provided for convenience only. We do not control and do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information. Allergen and nutrition information may be incomplete or wrong; always confirm directly with dining staff before consuming any food if you have an allergy or dietary restriction.
The Service's original code and design are owned by its operators. "Denison", "Denison University", and related names and logos are the property of Denison University; their use here is nominative and descriptive only, and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement. You may not use our or Denison's marks without permission.
DenisonInterlink is an independent project created by students. It is not an official Denison University service, is not operated or controlled by the University, and the University is not responsible for it. Official University information should be obtained from official University channels.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR ACCURATE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE OPERATORS OF THE SERVICE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of the Service from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to resolve disputes in the state or federal courts located in Licking County, Ohio, and consent to their jurisdiction.
We collect: your name and @denison.edu email; profile details you add (year, major, photo, social links); content you create (messages, listings, questions, transcript entries); location data you voluntarily share for transit; and usage analytics (pages viewed, features used, device/session identifiers).
We use your information to operate and improve the Service: to authenticate you, deliver messages, display menus and schedules, power search and the marketplace, calculate your GPA and credit progress, show shuttle positions, and understand aggregate usage. We do not sell your personal information.
Other users can see your profile and any content you post to shared spaces (group chats, announcements, marketplace, class Q&A). Direct messages are limited to conversation participants and, as described in Section 7, the Service's platform owner — one specific individual, not group admins or general staff — who can access any conversation for safety, abuse-investigation, or legal reasons. Your transcript and GPA are private to you.
Data is stored using a managed database provider with row-level security, encrypted sensitive tokens, and access controls. We retain data while your account is active and delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period after account deletion, except where retention is required by law.
You can edit your profile, delete your content, stop location sharing, and delete your account at any time. To request access to or deletion of your data, contact us using the information below. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to measure aggregate usage. We do not use advertising trackers.
The Service is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Questions about these Terms or the Privacy Policy, or requests regarding your data, can be sent to the Service operators at the contact address published within the app. Because this is an independent student project, responses are provided on a best-effort basis.
By using DenisonInterlink you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy.
